Rose Claiden has recently returned from Scotland where she trained and practiced as an Art Therapist, Clinical Aromatherapist and Reiki Master. She was fortunate to study at the Scottish School of Herbal Medicine ( 2004-05 ), which gave her a thorough an inspiring training into the profound healing properties of essential oils. Rose has worked in clinics in Edinburgh and Morecombe and benefited from a broad range of experience within professional settings, that attended to the physical, emotional and energetic wellbeing of clients.
Roses’ Reiki training began in Tasmania in 1995 and she later studied to Master’s level in Lancaster, gaining intensive instruction over 1 year in Reiki initiations, teaching and traditional USUI practice. She is committed to a daily Reiki and meditation practice and has also benefited from many experienced meditation teachers at Samye Ling Tibetan Centre in Scotland. Rose also trained and practiced with the NFSH ( National Federation of Spiritual Healers ). Her treatments are enhanced by the ‘subtle’ energetic use of essential oils to help bring balance to the Chakra system. Client’s feet can be anointed with essential oils, in Essene method, prior to treatment.
Rose also studied intensively for 1 year with B.A.S.T. (British Academy of Sound Therapy ) learning how to work with crystal bowls, Himalayan sound bowls and voice toning to help in harmonising the bodies energetic system.
Rose is available at Live Life on Wednesdays and Fridays by appointment 0406 148 295.
Rose is also a full member of AAMA and IFA and eligible for most health funds.

HOLISTIC MASSAGE
Rose trained extensively at the Scottish School of Herbal Medicine in therapeutic and Holistic Massage. Techniques learned were based on Swedish Massage ( effleurage, petrissage, kneading, cupping, friction and deep tissue ) to help relieve muscular pain, stimulate the lymphatic system and encourage feelings of relaxation and wellbeing. Rose’s teacher was Ian Holland who has had over 30 years of massage experience in the US and Scotland. She did additional training with El Buick, a Clinical Aromatherapist, learning trigger points and some shiatsu points to enable the muscles to release tension.
The two courses in Holistic Massage and Clinical Aromatherapy ( ITEC ) gave extensive training and relate to some techniques learned in a Remedial Massage course in Australia.
CLINICAL AROMATHERAPY
Rose is a qualified Clinical Aromatherapist she is able to blend a ‘synergy’ of essential plant oils for each person and their massage. This takes into account the medicinal properties of each oil, relevant to each system of the body and mind, to balance health. Essential oils are the very immune system of the plant and help to oxygenate the blood, remove toxins ( lactic acid in tense muscles ), stimulate the lymphatic system and aid in promoting feelings of relaxation and wellbeing.
REIKI
Reiki is ‘Universal Life Force Energy’ a fine, healing vibration related to ‘ Prana’ or ‘Chi’. It is the basic energy of life itself that permeates, nourishes and sustains all living things. Reiki works on the mental, spiritual, emotional and physical levels, bringing all aspects into harmonious balance. If vital energy is depleted through stress or dis-ease Reiki can assist in reactivating the body’s own healing system in a safe, gentle and non-invasive way.
Dr Usui rediscovered and developed this ancient healing method in the mid nineteenth century and it was brought to the west by Hawayo Takata. Teaching methods have been passed down through a lineage and practitioners are attuned to the vibration of sacred healing symbols. Reiki energy is gently guided through the hands and the recipient remains clothed during the treatment.
Rose Claiden has been working with Reiki for over 8 years and initially trained in 1st and 2nd degree Usui Reiki on Mt. Nelson in Tasmania. She has now taken
Reiki 3, to Masters Level, Q5 Reiki and follows a commitment to meditation and healing practice to be a clear channel for healing energy.
Rose Claiden is also a Clinical Aromatherapist and aromatic essential plant oils can also be used at a subtle level to enhance healing in Reiki treatments. Oils are applied to the feet and assist in Chakra balancing.
REIKI WITH SOUND HARMONICS
Rose studied for 1 year with the British Academy of Sound Therapy (BAST) learning how to effectively use Himalayan Bowls, Crystal bowls and toning to help in balancing physical, emotional and subtle body systems. Contemporary quantum physics has shown that all matter is ultimately energy and all energy has its own frequency or vibration.
When dis-ease is present, this frequency is not in harmony with the body’s natural rhythms. By using clear harmonic frequencies close to the ‘dis-ease’ a process of sympathetic resonance allows the denser vibrations to attune to their natural harmony. Experiments have shown that when a tuning fork is played, note C, all surrounding tuning forks will resonate, without being physically touched.
The Himalayan bowls, traditionally made from seven metals, play tones and overtones but have key notes which can help to balance each Chakra. Rose uses Jonathen Goldman’s system of specific sounds to heal each Chakra, as used by BAST.
In the treatments, Rose combines the use of Himalayan bowls, toning, healing intention, Reiki and by arrangement Quartz Crystal bowls. Clients remain clothed for the sessions.
The Gaelic word for being healthy means ‘ to be full of music’.
