Iain has been in practice as a naturopathic
practitioner since 1994 after qualifying in naturopathic
studies at the Dorothy
Hall College of Herbal Medicine in NSW. Iain
specialises in Iridology, Nutrition and Herbal Medicine and
has a keen
interest in the prevention and treatment of illness within
a holistic
framework.
This philosophy encompasses all facets
of a persons life, be it physical, emotional, circumstantial
and spiritual.
This allows for a deeper understanding of what brings health
and maintains health, not just from a reductionist’s
view of health typical of the current mainstream medical
model.
With this is mind Iain will, through Iridological assessment,
and detailed case taking, work with clients to bring about
a balance and harmony to their overall health.
An important factor in the Naturopathic
model of health care is the involvement of the patient in
their own healing
process, rather than handing all control to the practitioner.
This is something Iain feels strongly about and he encourages
his clients to educate themselves about their own health
and how to maintain it year after year.
As well as establishing Live Life Health Food Shop and
Live Life Natural Therapies Centre, Iain is also an educator
in
Natural Therapies at T.A.F.E. Tasmania.
